1. Amazon food delivery service to launch in India in September - Amazon will soon start delivering food to your doorstep if a new report is anything to go by. As per Reuters, the e-commerce platform is planning to foray into the fast-growing food delivery business of the country that could further raise competition in an increasingly crowded market. This comes days after the newspaper Business Standard reported that Amazon was in talks to buy UberEats. Reuters could not verify the news independently. Amazon has reportedly started recruiting employees for its new food delivery service and is aiming to launch it as early as September, ahead of India’s month-long festive season.


2. TikTok’s parent company ByteDance confirms it’s developing a smartphone - TikTok’s parent company ByteDance has confirmed that it is currently working on a smartphone. This announcement comes after ByteDance entered a deal with Chinese smartphone maker Smartisan Technology. As per the report by Reuters, the upcoming smartphone is a continuation of earlier plans from Smartisan Technology and not a product that has been developed ground up after ByteDance came onboard. As per Chinese financial news outlet Caijing, the smartphone has already been in development for around seven months and the project is being led by Wu Dezhou, a former executive at Smartisan. Does this mean that the phone won’t entirely be social media-centric? We will have to wait and find out.


3. Redmi K20 Pro gets new ‘Summer Honey White’ colour variant - Redmi K20 Pro‘s new colour variant ‘Summer Honey White’ has been launched in China. The variant joins the already existing Flame Red, Glacier Blue, and Carbon Fiber Black shades of the handset that were introduced back in May in the country, and later in India. Unlike the other colour options, the Summer Honey White Redmi K20 Pro has a gradient finish on the back and gold finish on the sides and around the pop-up selfie camera. The new colour variant of the Redmi K20 Pro will go on sale in China starting from August 1st. There is no word yet on when the colour variant of the most affordable Snapdragon 855-powered smartphone will be made available in India.


4. Samsung Galaxy A30s will have triple rear cameras and Infinity-V display - Samsung Galaxy A30s smartphone will debut with triple rear cameras and Infinity-V display, a company insider has informed 91mobiles. The handset is expected to be an iterative upgrade to Samsung’s previously launched Galaxy A30 model, which packs dual rear cameras and Infinity-U display. While there won’t be much difference in the display, the additional sensor will help boost the camera performance of Samsung Galaxy A30s. In addition to this, the source added that the Galaxy A30s production has started in India, which means Samsung could launch it soon. The handset is among the upcoming smartphones Samsung has in the pipeline and was leaked via Geekbench listing earlier this month.


5. Black Shark 2 Pro with Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC and up to 12GB RAM launched - Black Shark 2 Pro specifications and pricing have just been revealed at the flagship’s launch event in China. The model Pro model is the follow-up to the Black Shark 2, which was launched in India recently. The new offering from the Xiaomi-backed brand has arrived as the world’s second smartphone to flaunt Qualcomm’s latest flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 855+. The ASUS ROG Phone 2 was introduced as the first phone with the new processor recently. As expected, just like its predecessor, the Black Shark 2 Pro also comes with features like the next-gen Liquid Cooling system to keep the heat down while delivering extreme performance, a TrueView display with high refresh rate, and several optional gaming accessories.
